The operetta TheCircus Princess by Hungarian composer Emmerich Kálmán, premiered in 1926, represents the pinnacle of his work in the genre of Viennese operetta. It reflects the post-war atmosphere of the 1920s and the influence of new musical styles. The operetta stands out for its romantic plot, the exotic atmosphere of the circus world, and its beautiful melodies. The work represents the classical Viennese operetta featuring typical elements, such as disguised identities, a complex love story, and the contrast between aristocratic and folk settings.

The production will be a collaboration with the Nová Scéna Theatre, the NDKE Ballet and the NDKE Drama.
