The play was written for the National Theatre in London by Beth Steel and was immediately nominated for Best Play of the Year 2024 following its premiere. As stated on the theatre's website: “A passionate, heartbreaking, and funny portrayal of a larger-than-life family struggling to come to terms with a changing world.”

During a hot summer, a family gathers for the wedding of the youngest sister, Sylvia. Sisters, a widowed father, a wild aunt, her husband, and others, and even the youngest family member is a witness to the testing of not only family bonds but also the contrasts between love and loyalty. On top of that, the groom-to-be is Polish, a typical economic immigrant of modern British history. After all, weddings are often a litmus test for relationships.

THE PERFORMANCE CONTAINS STRONG LANGUAGE AND IS SUITABLE FOR AUDIENCES AGED 18 AND OVER.
