Three actresses and one opera singer meet on an empty stage to perform a ritual. A funeral one. They say goodbye to their director, lover and de facto creator.

They say goodbye in a unique and peculiar way. Sometimes it is tragicomically inappropriate. Together with him, they bury their memories and their past. Who knows, maybe even the future. During this last farewell, their key roles, fragments of replicas from plays, reflections on theater, but also on Europe, come to their minds. In addition to their impossible effort to come to an agreement, the ceremony itself becomes complicated and a black comedy begins.

The original play by director Martin Čičvák Urn on an empty stage is a look not only behind the scenes of the theater and the nooks and crannies of the actor's soul, but also a reflection on the theater, its meaning and transformation from antiquity to the present. However, it is also a view of the woman the heroine and her destiny, even as Europa had, the one after which our continent bears its name. So who is the great director? And what are his wonders and muses? The answers hidden in the black comedy Urn on an empty stage will bring big surprises.

We would like to express our gratitude to Vanda Šípová for her cooperation.
