Following last year’s success, the National Theatre Košice is delighted to once again host its Summer Day Camp under the subtitle Summer Theatre School. This year we aim to create a safe, creative, and kind environment that will enrich children's holiday time, offering them the chance to gain new experiences, make friendships, and discover the artistic potential hidden within.
Throughout the camp, children will get to know the complete functioningof a theatre , exploring all the different professions, secret corners, and the full process of producing a stage performance, including set design, props, and costumes.
A special highlight of this Summer Theatre School will be meetings with artists from all departments of the theatre—drama, opera, and ballet. Through creative workshops with professionals, children will gain valuable insight into how a theatre functions, while also learning how to use their body, mind, voice, and speech effectively.
The result of this week-long journey of self-discovery and theatre exploration will be a short stage performance. The children will present their own mini production at the Small Stage of the National Theatre Košice, complete with all the necessary elements, in front of their parents at the end of the week.
