Vlasta Pačajová has passed away.

The National Theatre Košice received with deep sorrow the news of the passing of one of the great personalities in the history of Košice theatre, Mrs. Vlasta Pačajová (née Potášová), a long-time soloist and member of the ballet ensemble, as well as a long-time prompter in drama, whose heart stopped beating on February 22, 2024, at the age of 87.

A native of Slovenské Nové Mesto, she began her professional theatre career in the years 1948 - 1954 at the Ballet of the Slovak National Theatre. She came to Košice theatre in 1955 and remained loyal to it for more than 50 years. As a soloist and member of the ballet, she performed in more than 50 ballet and opera productions. Even after retiring from ballet in 1990, she remained loyal to the theatre, working as a prompter in drama in more than three dozen drama productions. Her last production was Kebab by Romanian author Gianina Carbunariu, which premiered in June 2008.

Mrs. Vlasta, thank you for everything! Rest in peace.

The final farewell to the deceased will take place on Monday, February 26th, at 14:00 in the Ceremonial Hall AVE at the Public Cemetery in Košice.
