During the unique ballet gala evening Lights of the World – Svetlá sveta, stars of the world ballet scene, as well as homegrown soloists from the Ballet of the National Theatre Košice, will perform stunning choreographies on the stage of the Historical Building of the NDKE, showcasing the high level of ballet artistry to the audience.
This exclusive night will bring the best of both classical and contemporary ballet repertoire – iconic pas de deux, powerful solos, and unforgettable choreographies from the most renowned works of global ballet heritage, appealing not only to ballet enthusiasts.
The gala programme will feature stunning performances by Iana Salenko and Marian Walter – guest principal dancer and principal dancer from Staatsballet Berlin, Martina Arduino and Marco Agostino – principal dancers of Teatro La Scala Milan, Elisabeth Tonev and Semyon Velichko – principal dancers of the Dutch National Ballet, Tatijana Melnyik and Motomi Kiiota, principal dancer and Grand Sujet of the Hungarian National Ballet in Budapest; Solomon Osazuva, demi-soloist of SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana; Bianca Teixeira, principal dancer of the Semperoper Ballet Dresden; and principal dancers of the Ballet of the National Theatre Košice – Nina Ravasová, Tetiana Lubska, and Gennaro Sorbino.
The programme will also include a performance by successful Slovak baritone Pavol Kubáň, soloist of the Opera of the National Theatre in Prague, accompanied on piano by Júlia Grejtáková. The evening will be hosted by Katy Talan, who will also enrich the event with her own musical creations.
